The kindergarten students spent this week learning how to play checkers. We watched a video to learn the basics. Then, we played a group model game and discussed strategy options. Next, the students played checkers with a classmate. Their ability to comprehend the rules and try out strategic moves is admirable and inspiring! It would be wonderful if they could sharpen their skills by playing checkers at home :-)
Students in grades 1-5 are enjoying The Cardboard Arcade project. They are working on making a game out of cardboard and other recyclables. Using The Engineering Design Process as our structure, we are in the "Plan" phase now. Our inspiration is a real kid who started his very own cardboard arcade. This week I shared this video with the GT cuties so they could be inspired: "Caine's Arcade" https://youtu.be/faIFNkdq96U
The GT cuties are extremely motivated by this project! We hope to invite parents to our Cardboard Arcade once it is up and running!
