All of the GT cuties are doing their best, most high quality work on these colorful and informative cubes!
This week the GT cuties in all grade levels refreshed their working knowledge about The Thinking Skills of GT. Their job is to create a cube where each face defines one of the skills in words, pictures, and/or symbols. The skills are what we focus on in the EISD GT program. Our district chose these skills for all GT students to develop in their time in the program. Pictured below is one of our classroom walls that showcases these skills. There are eight skills in all, but the cube only has six faces. The GT cuties were told to design a face for all of the skills except for critical thinking and creative thinking. They are supposed to include the skill title and 3-5 synonyms, symbols, or pictures. Below you can see several finished cubes. After the cube is finished the students will use it to determine the topic of a puppet show they will create. They will roll their cube two times and select one of the skills. Then, they will use an app called Puppet Pals 2 to make a puppet show. The show will be about a fictional GT student who learns how to use that particular skill. Most students are still working on their cubes - they should finish early next week. They will spend the rest of the week working on the puppet show.
