2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR!
THIS IS THE FINAL POST FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR! What an amazing year we have shared together in Bridge Point GT! The GT cuties grew by leaps and bounds this year, and I am so proud of all of their efforts and achievements. Being around their mental energy is inspiring and invigorating, and I truly feel that I am the luckiest teacher in the world because I get to spend my days with your fabulous children. Thank you all for your support and interest throughout the school year! Wishing you all a wonderful and relaxing summer! See you in August :-)

1st grade: The whole school was delighted to learn about the May life skill, All Stars, from the 1st grade GT cuties! All of their hard work and preparation paid off as they flawlessly explained the May All Stars on stage. It took a great deal of courage and practice to stand before the whole school! The 1st graders each spoke about two life skills and showed the artwork they made while they talked. Congratulations on a great performance!!!
2nd grade: The Great Paper Airplane Contest was held yesterday, and each company should be proud of their work and performance. After getting a loan from the class bank and purchasing materials at an auction, the companies built and tested a variety of planes. Planes that placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the contest earned companies prize money. After paying back the bank, the company with the most money officially wins the contest. Congratulations to Sky Runners, this year's winning company. And congratulations to all 2nd graders for a wonderful year of learning and growing in GT class! This is our last day of class for the year, and I'm already looking forward to working with these amazing students when they return as 3rd graders! 3rd grade: This week the students worked on writing, directing, and acting in one another's board game commercials. This endeavor requires students to make a 30 second informational video - which sounds easier to do than it really is! Within the video they are supposed to show the game, the pieces, and the game's container. Each student went in their own direction on this, but all students are happily and energetically supporting one another by acting and offering input and advice. 4th grade: Our last week of GT together this year went like most of the other weeks: full of fun and challenge & way too fast!!! The responsible and focused group of 4th grade GT cuties put every ounce of brain power into the paper castles project. They each completed one of the two castles they worked on in GT. They brought home both castles, and they hope to complete their second one over the summer. What an amazing bunch of minds and personalities! It is going to be a terrific 5th grade year for this group, and I'm excited to steer the ship with them one more time! 5th grade: The 5th graders had an eventful and productive week. They continued work on their Theme Park project, and each group made excellent progress this week. On Wednesday, Ms. Hanna visited to teach us about GT in middle school. On Thursday the 5th graders judged the Great Paper Airplane Contest that was conducted by 2nd grade GT students. They made perfect judges because of their experience with the project, and the younger students really responded to their questions and compliments. Many thanks to all of the 5th grade GT cuties for giving their time and effort to the younger students! NOTE: There will be no GT for any grade level next week due to scheduling changes caused by STAAR testing and May Madness. This page will be updated again on Friday, May 20. |
